Sabine Amend grew up in Germany. She lived in the UK, the PR China, and then again in Germany before moving to Colorado in 2001. Sabine’s movement journey began as a competitive swimmer. In her early 20s, she discovered the joys of improvised movement forms, including Five Rhythms, Nia, and improvisational acting. Eventually, Sabine’s education in Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) serendipitously led to Gyrotonic® practice in Boulder, which intrigued her with its hard-to-explain “different” and always interesting experience of moving. She is a certified Gyrotonic® and certified Gyrokinesis® instructor who fosters new discoveries in her clients (and herself) - be it new ease, joy in movement, expanded strength and mobility, or insights into the dynamic connections between movement and mind. Sabine is also certified for the Leg Extension Unit specialized equipment, and has translated Paul Horvath's courses on rehabilitation applications of Gyrotonic® methodology in the US. Sabine's "other life" is a practice in versatility - as a globally mobile entrepreneur (Kultur & Mangement, Inc. and SAMIKA: Building Adaptive Minds), as well as a researcher, MBA professor, curriculum designer and author. She is very happy about the positive impact of Gyrotonic® practice on all her endeavors.
